ARTIST BIO

My name is Mairi Dare, and I am currently studying the HNC Art Portfolio Production course at West Lothian College. During this time I have been experimenting between many mediums and techniques. The body of work I have created varies in both 2D and 3D practices. 
My work has been influenced by my recent trip volunteering overseas in Myanmar. I am interested in different ways of life and like to question why we often live the lifestyles we do. I have been exploring into the concepts of failure, the future, the desire to escape and the isolated feeling we can often feel to the outside world. I have also been looking into the theme of feminism and the way women live due to the society we have created around us.
